GIZ – Five ICT Curricula Development

The project aimed to build 5 TVET Curricula in the ICT domain to help the National Company for Employment and Training (NET) to offer five new training/certification programs (800 hours training) in the ICT sector that are complaint with the Jordanian Qualification Framework in accordance with TVSDC (now AQAC: The Accreditation & Quality Assurance Commission) TVET accreditation standards.

Project Scope of Work

Ebsilon worked closely with GIZ project team and NET to plan for each activity in the project and meet the high standards AQAC requested. Experts in five different fields worked on the development of the five curricula.

  • Initiating and Planning: 4 weeks.
  • Execution: 22 weeks
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: 32 weeks.
  • Reporting & Closing: 4 weeks.

Project Description

Under the direct supervision of the MOVEHET GIZ project manager and with close cooperation with the beneficiary (NET: National Company for Employment and Training, Ebsilon developed five accredited curricula to match level four “Craftsman” (800 Hours Curricula) on the Jordan National Qualifications Framework. The curricula are compliant with the TVSDC (now AQAC: The Accreditation & Quality Assurance Commission) TVET accreditation standards. The five curricula are:

  1. Digital Marketing
  2. Smart Phones Application (Android)
  3. Computer Networking / Fibre Optic Networking
  4. Cyber Security
  5. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) – electronic maintenance of programmed machines

 

Project Deliverables/Outputs/Activities

The MOVE-HET Project aims at aligning TVET and Higher Education programs with labor market needs to improve employability. The project:

  • promoted “workplace-learning programs” in TVET and applied academic programs,
  • supported the implementation of dual and cooperative studies in cooperation with different learning providers;
  • supported and encouraged the involvement of the private sector in TVET by supporting the establishment of National Sector Skills Councils, and the establishment of Centers of Excellence which are viewed as models of best practice cooperation between private sector and TVET providers;
  • supported the implementation of the Jordan National Qualifications Framework and ensured permeability between different educational and training streams; and
  • promoted the recognition of prior learning and experiences.
